Description
Human-like earth-listener. Elsie 2001 s.v. Dhevështrues: Alb. dhevështrues, def. dhevështruesi ‘earth-observer,’ from dhe ‘earth’ + vështrues ‘observer’; puts his ear to the ground at night in springtime and detects distant sounds and the running of underground waters. He is not the cult Earth (Dheu), nor the Earthly Beauty of the wonder-tales, nor the helper mare Dhëmbësuta.
