Description
Tall ghost-like being of the Mat region. Elsie 2001 s.v. Pëlhuraza: appears at night in a white shroud and blocks the nocturnal traveller’s path; also on mountainside or meadow; wraps those it meets in its shroud. She is not Abe (the coarse woollen aba cloak phantom), nor Avullushe (the vapor smotherers).

Lead story
On a Mat night road a tall white shape steps into the path — Pëlhuraza, named for cloth. Elsie says she wraps the traveller in her shroud. Abe keeps the coarse aba cloak and Avullushe the steam breath; this one is the sheet that blocks the way.
