In central Albania she turns nightmare; around Tomor she may wear a jewelled golden bonnet — touch the jewels and grow rich and powerful — though more often she is hija e ligë, the evil shadow. Buzuku 1555 already uses the word for ‘ghost.’ She is not the same as Lugat the pest-revenant.
