Description
Nightmare incubus. Elsie 2001 s.v. Makth: ghost-like personification of a nightmare (~ankth); suffocates humans at night, women in particular; if overcome, grants whatever you wish at that moment (Dhama 1988:155). Near other night smotherers — Avullushe (vapor) and Tirta’s Angu (formless crusher) — but kept as its own figure.
