Lead story
Omer grows in the shadow of Jutbina’s twin names. When he believes father and uncle dead, the frontier still holds them as prisoners of the Christian king. Rusha — the king’s daughter — becomes co-conspirator, not trophy. Twin princes become leverage. Mujo tests the boy with a false threat against those hostages before the household can call him kreshnik. Death arrives as a lie first. Enemies trick him with false news of Mujo’s death; the wound that follows is mortal. He asks that Ajkuna not be told — a wish the next song will break in her own voice. They bury him in the mountains. The mother’s lament is another page; this one ends at the grave and the false news that dug it.
