Ditët e Plakës — the Old Wife’s Days — are the last cold hinge of winter in Albanian popular belief. Elsie 2001 (s.v. Old Wife’s Days; cf. Plakat; Ice Saints) gives March 29, 30, and April 1 as the traditional names; in Albania the bite is often felt mid or end of March. Balkan parallels appear in modern Greek and Bulgarian naming trails; Hahn 1854 (vol. 1, p. 155) sits behind Elsie’s note. These are calendar cold days, not a hag-goddess biography and not the hearth mother. Epithets such as Plaka e Vatrës / Shtriga e Vatrës belong with Nëna e Vatrës. Rollea/Rollca Plaka is a separate northern witch name in Elsie — name bleed only, not this calendar custom. Soft seasonal links run toward Dielli, Dita e Verës, and the fire grammar of Enji.
